Bajaj Allianz Case Study



Introduction


Our client, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Co. Ltd., is a joint venture between two leading conglomerates-Allianz AG, one of the world's largest insurance companies, and Bajaj Auto, one of the biggest 2 and 3 wheeler manufacturers in the world.

Business Challenge

Our client had been facing multiple issues, including market pressure to increase its responsiveness to its customers substantially, as well as manual procedures and legacy systems internally, which were not scaling up to their growing business needs. Apart from the delay due to non-automation of critical processes, there was also the challenge of seamlessly integrating various back end applications to enable the complete flow - from application data entry to policy contract issue.

Solution

Futurism's solution for the client aimed to enhance the existing core policy administration system and the development of a comprehensive New Business and Underwriting System that would replace the New Business functionality provided by the Legacy Core package. Futurism was involved in business process reengineering, requirements capture, solution architectural design, coding and system testing and implementation.

The client offers various insurance schemes and plans to its customers. The sales team of Allianz Bajaj needs to demonstrate these schemes and plans. The demonstration basically involves the following procedure:

Presenting their schemes to the customer, allowing him/her to make a selection.
Gathering personal information pertaining to the customer such as name, occupation, etc. and most importantly age.
Again giving the customer a choice of various plans and payment modes.
Calculating the premium based on the customer's selection and generating reports which contain a comprehensive summary of the various benefits he/she receives with the selected scheme and plan.

Since the number of combinations of schemes and plans was quite considerable, the whole process was complex and time consuming. There was a need to find a solution that would allow the sales team members to present the information to its potential customers interactively within a short period of time and in an easy to understand manner.

Futurism developed a web-based application that provided the above mentioned facilities.
